XVII en Isfahán, Irán. La mezquita, parte del esfuerzo de reconstrucción del sha safawí Abbas I, estaba situada al centro de Isfahán, a lo largo de un gran paseo peatonal central llamado el maydan. Tanto como las estructuras del mismo período que la acompañan, la mezquita se destaca por su bóveda lógicamente precisa y por el uso de azulejos coloreados.
